【Motion-Sensing Catch Game】 Delicious Food Falling from the Sky | 2020 ITF Korea Pavilion - Korean Food Challenge Motion-Sensing Interaction

Project Design Concept: How do you leave visitors with a lasting impression of Korean cuisine? We designed an intuitive and engaging motion-sensing catch game. Using Kinect skeleton-tracking technology, participants need no wearable devices — simply move left and right and reach out with both hands to become a super catcher. By grabbing iconic Korean dishes falling from above (such as bibimbap and Korean fried chicken), players naturally develop a deeper appreciation for Korean food culture through the fun of gameplay.

Interactive Experience Flow:

  • Intuitive motion-sensing controls: Stand in front of the screen and the system instantly detects the player's position and hand movements — no learning curve required.
  • Precise food catching: Various representative Korean foods drop randomly across the screen. Players must react quickly and move their bodies to "catch" the food and score points.
  • Real-world feedback mechanism: The game pace accelerates over time, pushing players to their reaction limits. Reaching a target score triggers a connection to the on-site activity, allowing players to redeem a physical Korean-themed gift — effectively boosting booth traffic and interaction conversion rates.
