【Image Compositing Interactive Case】 Transported Abroad in a Second | 2021 ITF Korea Pavilion - Virtual Travel Experience

Project Design Concept: In the post-pandemic era, when overseas travel was restricted, how could technology satisfy people's desire to travel? Starlite Technology built a high-spec AI / green-screen background removal interactive photo studio for the Korea Tourism Organization. Using professional-grade real-time background removal algorithms, the system precisely eliminates the green backdrop while preserving hair strands and edge details, seamlessly compositing visitors into well-known Korean landmark scenes. This delivered a fun "instant virtual travel" experience and generated significant brand exposure across social media.

Interactive Experience Flow:

• Scene Selection: Users select their desired Korean travel destination on a touchscreen (e.g. N Seoul Tower, Jeju Island).
• Real-Time Compositing Preview: Standing in front of the green screen, the display instantly shows a composited preview, allowing visitors to pose in response to the background.
• Image Output and Sharing: After a countdown shot, the system automatically generates the composited photo, with support for instant printing or social media sharing — letting visitors take their "virtual journey" home.
