【Creative RFID Application】 Journey to the Stars | 2022 ITF Taiwan Pavilion - Michelin Food Sensing Table
Project Design Concept: The 2022 ITF Taiwan Pavilion was themed "Taiwan Play", with the "Eat Play" zone dedicated to promoting Taiwan's Michelin dining scene. Starlite Technology combined RFID sensing technology with lightweight foam board props. Food images were printed and mounted onto foam boards, each embedded with an RFID tag on the back. Visitors simply place a food board they like onto the sensing tray — as if ordering a meal — to trigger a detailed introduction on the paired tablet. This low-cost, "virtual drives physical" approach preserves the tactile ritual of picking up a physical object while significantly lowering the barrier to building exhibition interactive experiences.
Interactive Experience Flow:
- Physical Ordering: A variety of Taiwanese food image cards (foam board props) are displayed on the table.
- Intuitive Sensing: Visitors select a dish of interest and place it in the tray's sensing zone. The system reads the RFID signal instantly.
- Information Sync: The corresponding tablet screen immediately displays the Michelin review, restaurant details, and feature introduction for that dish — delivering an intuitive guided experience where "pick it up, see it all" becomes reality.
