【Cooperative Cycling Experience】 Riding Through Taiwan's Mountains and Seas | 2022 ITF Taiwan Pavilion - Multi-Person Synchronised augmented reality (AR) Image Interaction

Project Design Concept: To showcase the appeal of cycling tourism in Taiwan's mountains and waters, Starlite Technology built a multi-person cooperative audio-visual theatre on the main stage of the 2022 ITF Taiwan Pavilion. Unlike individual racing, this project centres on the idea of "co-creation" — once anyone starts pedalling, a stunning video of Taiwan's scenery begins to play. Through phone camera integration technology, we captured each rider's real-time expressions and displayed them on the large screen, making every participant the star of this Taiwan tourism promotional film.

Interactive Experience Flow:

  • Cooperative Activation: Four bicycles are linked to the large screen. Once sensors detect pedalling, the system randomly plays a high-definition scenic video on either a "mountain" or "waterside" theme.
  • Real-Time Expression Display: A phone camera is mounted in front of each bicycle to capture riders' smiles and movements in real time. The footage is simultaneously composited into individual windows on the large screen.
  • Data and Keepsakes: The team's cumulative score is shown at the top of the screen. After riding, visitors can scan a QR code to download a personalised souvenir photo featuring their own cycling footage. A link to a survey is also provided, enabling effective collection of visitor feedback.
