【Multi-Screen Integration Technology】 Ride to Win | 2020 ITF Taiwan Pavilion - Cycling Race and Real-Time Video Streaming
Project Design Concept: At the carousel stage of the 2020 ITF Taiwan Pavilion, we were responsible for building the core "digital racing brain". Facing four bicycles in constant rotation, we overcame the challenge of signal transmission and developed an interactive system integrating "riding data" and "real-time video". Through precise hardware and software integration, participants' expressions and performance data were synchronised to the giant screen on the central LED column with millisecond accuracy, transforming a physical challenge into a visually compelling digital competition show.
Interactive Experience Flow:
- Real-Time Data Connection: The system simultaneously receives pedalling signals from 4 bicycles, calculates each participant's cadence and distance in real time, and converts the data into animated progress bars on the main screen.
- First-Person Camera Streaming: We mounted a phone camera in front of each bicycle to capture riders' expressions in real time. Using wireless streaming technology, all 4 video feeds were simultaneously displayed on the central main screen, allowing the audience to clearly see each participant in action.
- Visualised Race Rankings: The main screen displayed live race status in split-window format. Rankings shifted continuously as distances accumulated, with final scores tallied at the finish line. Winners were then guided to collect their prizes, creating a high-intensity sense of interactive engagement.
